Hello Family,
How is everything at home? Life is pretty good here at the MTC. This week has felt a lot more normal than the week before. We have gotten used to the routine and have had some awesome experiences.
Church is pretty different here. We go to Relief Society with allt he sisters in the morning. There’s about 1800 missionaries here at the MTC right now (winter is a slow time) and 300 or so are sites. So Relief Society is in the gym. They just put out a million chairs and the bleachers. Al of the MTC has a devotional there later on Sunday nights. Sacrament meeting is in the afternoon. All the hyms are in Mandarin, all the prayers, the sacrament blessings, the talks they are all in Chinese. We don’t understand that much yet. Our branch has missionaries in it who have been here almost 8 weeks so they do most of that stuff right now.
We love our gym time 5x week. Volleyball, basketball, and the stationary bikes ar fun.
This week Elder Zwick spoke at devotional. He had some amazing stories and advice form his time as mission Pres. In Chile. The spirit was strong there and in our district meeting afterward.
Chinese is coming very slowly. Right now we are focusing on learning how to teach the missionary lessons in English. Sister Thomas and I had an awesome experience teaching the first lesson (The Restoration) in the TEC (teaching experience center) last week. We weren’t sure if we would do very well, but the Spirit was there guiding us.
Today is P-day again. It’s nice to have a day to do something else besides study. The endowment session at the temple was good.
Well, just some extra stuff.
Thanks for the package. All the extra stuff was very thoughtful. That was everything I needed. Let me know if you can’t find the arches.
Can you send me a copy of Tim’s last emails. You could just send them through dear elder. I guess I’d better have you check up on my wells fargo acct. for me. I think that my credit card balance is $0 but if not will you transfer some from checking.
That’s all for now.
I’d love to hear from everyone soon.
Love,
Sister Browning
